River
River Do I dare Step off this edge Into propensity? Dare I chance a break of heart possibility? You’re pulling my hands And my heartstrings too I want to give in And say yes to you. But It’s safe right here On the river’s side I won’t get swept up And tossed aside By water’s whim Or your callus gaze When no longer am I Your toy to play I tried it once And nearly drowned Once bit, twice shy, I prefer the ground.
